Broken capillaries occur when small blood capillaries in the skin become dilated. When the blood vessels are enlarged and spread out, they are visible ‘threads’ known as Telangiectasia.
Queen of The Skin has been treating broken capillaries for over 12 years, with the use of cutting-edge Dual Laser technology. The Dual Laser is the only laser device designed with a small pen-tip head, shaped to specifically target broken capillaries.
Most laser or IPL devices utilise a large headpiece that shrinks the blood vessels. This will often lead to the return of blood vessels within weeks to months following treatment.
Queen of The Skin uses a pen-like laser head that targets the blood vessels one-by-one until destroyed.

The laser broken capillary treatment takes only 15 minutes, however, we allow 30 minutes for your appointment as this will allow time to complete a patient registration form, receive a consultation and discuss the procedure and post-care instructions.
Our innovative laser technology facilitates the removal of broken capillaries instantly at the time of treatment. In cases where the broken capillaries are severe, additional laser treatments may be required.
Typically, anaesthetic is required. The treatment is often termed ‘uncomfortable’ but is tolerated well among most age groups. This is due to the speed and precision in which broken capillaries are removed. If you would like anaesthetic, we are able to provide topical anaesthetic designed to numb the area to be treated.
Following your treatment there will be some redness, skin blistering and swelling on and around the treated areas for up to a week. In addition, a temporary scab will form, and this is a natural part of the treatment process and the scabbing will usually fall off within 14 days. Once the scab has fallen off, the area will be red (due to new capillary formation to heal and repair the treated area), and over several months, the redness will dissipate.
You will be requested to send an image of the treated area 3 days post treatment and 2 weeks post treatment. This is to ensure that the treated area is healing well and that you have kept the scab intact. Of course, if at any time you have questions or concerns, you should contact our clinic to arrange a face-to-face appointment.
During the healing process, you can wear makeup to conceal the treated area – recommendations will be provided with regards to the best types of makeup to be used.
If required, you will be provided with topical cream, designed to be used post skin injury, that will provide nutrients to accelerate the skin healing process. In addition, we also offer Light Emitting Diode Treatments (LED) to accelerate the healing process.
You will be provided with a post-care form along with verbal instructions to care for the treated area.
