Décolletage is a chronic skin condition that is commonly seen among men and women during the ageing process. This condition contains a combination of hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation and an increase of dilated blood vessels that leads to very noticeable discoloured skin on the neck and chest region.
Queen of The Skin’s leading-edge laser technology has been designed with a small pen-tip head, shaped to specifically target pigmentation and dilated blood vessels.
Our laser device breaks up the pigmentation within the deeper layers of the skin and once broken down into small particles, the particles are reabsorbed back into the bloodstream and are disregarded. In addition to breaking up skin pigment, the surrounding dilated blood vessels are also treated to ensure that the ‘redness’ is cleared throughout during this treatment.
Skin needling is recommended as an adjunct treatment, to be performed immediately after the laser treatment. Skin needling causes light ‘trauma’ to the skin which facilitates the production of immune cells which assist in eliminating skin pigment.
When pigmentation is located within the deeper layers of the skin, several treatments will be required, the number of which will be determined by the reduction in skin pigment and redness.
This treatment is termed ‘uncomfortable’ and is tolerated well by most patients. However, to ensure that patients are kept as comfortable as possible, topical anaesthetic can be applied to the skin.
You will be requested to send an image of the treated area 3 days post treatment, 2 weeks post treatment and again, 6 weeks post treatment. This is to ensure that the treated area is healing well. Of course, if at any time you have questions or concerns, you should contact our clinic to arrange a face-to-face appointment.
During the healing process, you can wear makeup to conceal the treated area and recommendations will be provided regarding the best types of makeup to be used.
If required, you will be provided with topical cream, designed to be used post skin injury, that will provide nutrients to accelerate the skin healing process. In addition, we also offer Light Emitting Diode Treatments (LED) to accelerate the healing process.
You will be provided with a post-care form along with verbal instructions to care for the treated area (s).
