The Queen of The Skin has been performing laser lesion removal for over 12 years, with the use of cutting-edge Dual Laser technology. The Dual Laser is the only laser device designed with a small pen-tip head, shaped to specifically target Xanthelasma without causing damage to surrounding skin tissue.
Xanthelasma is a walk-in walk-out treatment that is removed with laser, in just minutes.
This unique laser treatment removes Xanthelasma (seen predominantly on the upper eyelids), without the need to cut the skin and without the need to use sutures and dressings.
While some scarring can occur post laser removal of Xanthelasma (within the treated area only), this is usually seen as a pale white colour, no larger than the mole itself. With that said, the laser removal of Xanthelasma typically allows for the best aesthetic outcomes. Facial skin heals very well and, in most cases, once the treated area has healed, the treated area will not be noticeable
The laser Xanthelasma removal procedure takes only a minute or two, however, we allow 30 minutes for your appointment as this will allow time to complete a patient registration form, receive a consultation and discuss the procedure and post-care instructions.
Our innovative laser technology facilitates the removal of Xanthelasma immediately at the time of treatment. In rare cases where there is pigment that lays deep under the skin, a subsequent treatment may be required.
Typically, anaesthetic is not required. The treatment is often termed ‘uncomfortable’ but is tolerated well among most age groups. This is due to the speed and precision in which the Xanthelasma is removed. With that said, if you would like anaesthetic, we are able to provide topical and local anaesthetic options designed to completely numb the area to be treated.
Following your treatment there will be some redness and possible swelling on and around the treated areas for up to 72 hours. In addition, a temporary scab will form, and this is a natural part of the treatment process and the scabbing will usually fall off within 7-10 days. Once the scab has fallen off, the area will be red (due to new capillary formation to heal and repair the treated area), and over several months, the redness will dissipate.
You will be requested to send an image of the treated area 3 days post treatment, 2 weeks post treatment and again, 6 weeks post treatment. This is to ensure that the treated area(s) is healing well and that you have kept the scab intact. Of course, if at any time you have questions or concerns, you should contact our clinic to arrange a face-to-face appointment.
During the healing process, you can wear makeup to conceal the treated area – recommendations will be provided with regards to the best types of makeup to be used.
If required, you will be provided with topical cream, designed to be used post skin injury, that will provide nutrients to accelerate the skin healing process. In addition, we also offer
Light Emitting Diode Treatments (LED) to accelerate the healing process.
You will be provided with a post-care form along with verbal instructions to care for the treated area (s).
In summary, the laser Xanthelasma removal service is a proven, safe and effective way to beautify your face and other body parts.
